Three people were killed and dozens injured following a general strike by ethnic groups in southern Nepal on March 6 where police reportedly opened fire on protesters.

Local media reported three people were killed following clashes between the police and protesters associated with the Madhesi minority groups, prominent in southern Nepal. The AP reported the protesters were attempting to disrupt a political rally.
