Clashes were reported between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters in areas of the West Bank on April 28, as marches took place in support of some 1,500 Palestinian detainees on hunger strike in Israeli prisons.

Both Palestinian and Israeli media reported that the clashes occurred after Fatah leadership in the West Bank had called for a “day of rage” against Israeli forces.

This footage, shared by media activists in Baita, south of Nablus, is said to show Israeli forces firing tear gas in confrontations with protesters.

The Times of Israel, citing a Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson, reported that eight people in Baita were treated for suffocation after being exposed to tear gas. The spokesperson also said six Palestinians were wounded by live fire during clashes in Nabi Salah, near Ramallah, and Beit Omar, near Hebron, according to the report.
