Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has slammed comments by U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson suggesting his Republican party may repeal the U.S. CHIPS Act if they win a legislative majority in Tuesday's election. The law allows for US$6.6 billion in direct funding for a semiconductor plant in Arizona state by Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC.
